About Us

Our Story

Nebula started as just an idea over a decade ago. Founder and Executive Manager Ezra Tunley carried their vision while attending, and later volunteering with, LGBTQ+ and trans+ youth groups across London. Through these experiences they observed the vital importance of consistent and reliable support for young people, while also confronting the challenges of under-resourced services, which often result in fragmented communities and spaces too infrequent to provide the stability that trans+ youth deserve.

Over time, the concept of Nebula became more clearly defined, ultimately evolving into the organisation it is today: a charity delivering the first weekly trans+ youth group in London. It is founded on the principle of providing a safe, recurring, and dependable space in which trans+ young people can be supported, uplifted, and empowered.

In 2025, the team resolved to bring this long-held vision to fruition. Nebula was established in direct response to the gaps identified, offering a consistent and reliable environment that uplifts trans+ youth, enables them to explore their identities safely, and provides opportunities to develop skills, build confidence, and form meaningful, lasting connections.

Today, Nebula is rapidly approaching the launch of its regular programme, alongside a series of workshops, fundraising initiatives, and community events. Together these efforts are designed to foster our growing community and make trans+ youth feel seen, supported, uplifted and empowered.

Our Ethos

Support

We are committed to providing young people with access to mental health support, practical guidance, and a safe, welcoming environment where they feel comfortable being themselves. Our youth workers receive thorough training to help them respond to a wide range of challenges young people may face. Where specialist support is needed, we endeavour to work to connect young people with the appropriate services to ensure they receive the care they deserve.

Uplift

In a world that can often feel overwhelming or bleak, we strive to create a positive and encouraging space that fosters hope and optimism. We want every young person who attends our groups to leave feeling lighter, supported, and valued, with the chance to step away from their struggles and recharge, even if only for a moment.

Empower

We aim to equip young people with the right balance of tools, opportunities, and responsibilities so they feel confident navigating challenges independently, without feeling overwhelmed. By ensuring their voices are heard, encouraging youth-led workshops, encouraging peer mentorship, and promoting both collaborative and individual projects, we help young people build confidence and skills. While we are always here to support them, our goal is to empower young people to step into the wider world feeling stronger, capable, and heard.
